Thanksgiving afternoon around 12:30 p.m., Wilton Dispatch received a report of a blue Chevy Cruze driving recklessly on Route 7 (Danbury Road) in Georgetown. The caller stated that the vehicle nearly hit the guardrail numerous times while swerving.
The vehicle was allegedly stopped by patrol around Pimpewaug Road. Officers on the scene instantly detected an odor of alcohol on the vehicle’s operator, 58-year-old John T. Corona.
After failing the field sobriety tests he was administered, Corona was arrested and transported to police headquarters for processing.
Upon getting a breathalyzer test, Corona’s BAC was found to be at .2026. He was later released on $250 bond and has a scheduled court date of Monday, Dec. 3.
